The Bath Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the town for a possible structure fire, with smoke coming from the eves at 9:21 am Thursday February 6, 2025. When Bath Chief Mike Fiordo pulled up on scene he noticed black smoke coming from both ends of the Structure which he then upgraded the call to a working structure fire and started his second box. That started mutual aid from Bradford, Hammondsport, Painted Post, Savona, Kanona, Wayne, Bath VA Fire, Steuben County Investigations Team, and Bath Volunteer Ambulance.
First unit on scene was Bath Engine 7. The interior crew pulled one hand line and made an initial attack on the fire. Within 12 minutes the fire was out and under control. Many responding units were turned away and went back in service with the thanks of the Bath Fire Chief. The fire investigation team assembled on scene and started their investigation. The fire is considered still under investigation until further review.
Bath units were called back in service at 11:47 am.
