William G. Lambert of Grove Road passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the Olean General Hospital following an illness.
Bill was born March 31, 1972 in Olean on Good Friday and was the son of Charles Merwin and Zada Evelyn Clayson Lambert. On September 10, 1994 in Lyndon he married Barbara E. Webber who survives.
Bill was a 1991 graduate of Franklinville High School. He formerly worked at Prestolite in Arcade for over 20 years. Bill currently worked for his “hobby job” at Trans Am for the past 17 years.
Bill was a lifetime member of the Franklinville Fire Department for the past 36 years starting at the age of 16. He was former Ambulance Captain, Past 1st, 2nd and 3rd Assistant Chief. Bill was former chief of Lyndon. He was a founding member of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club as a 10-year president. Bill was a past Cattaraugus County Volunteer Association President in 2003.
Along with his loving wife, Barbara, Bill is survived by; his parents, Charles and Zada Lambert; a sister-in-law, Bev Olson; 2 nephews, Owen Smith and Jacob Smith; and so many that adopted him as their dad or grandpa.
Bill was predeceasd by; 2 brothers, Scott Lambert and Thomas Lambert; a niece, Chloe Lambert; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Laura Clayson; paternal grandparents, Robert and Daphne Lambert; and his in-laws James and Linda Webber.
Friends will be received at the Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home 7 North Main Street Franklinville, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. A celebration of Bill’s life service will be held at the Franklinville Fire Hall at 4:00pm. Chaplin Russell Hatch will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Prospect Cemetery.
