Larceny and Offering a False Instrument for Filing Arrest
Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on February 26, 2025, Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mary M. Hill, age 49, of Lightfoot Lane, Corning, New York. It is alleged that between December of 2023 and March of 2024, Ms. Hill knowingly and with intent to defraud, presented false documents to the Steuben County Department of Social Services. Ms. Hill obtained benefits that she was not eligible to receive in the amount of $737. Ms. Hill was charged with Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, a class E Felony and Petit Larceny. Ms. Hill was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Bath Court at a later date.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit, and the District Attorney’s Office.
