A house fire Monday morning displaced a family of two on Deer Creek Road in the Town of Genesee. Allegany county Fire Coordinator Jeff Luckey tells us firefighters made "an excellent stop." Responding to the scene were crews from Portville, Westons Mills and Clarksville. Luckey said the fire was contained to a single room, but heat and smoke damage spread throughout the single-story home. There were no injuries. The cause of the blaze was listed as "accidental."
Between Saturday and Monday, Friendship and Scio fire departments also handled alarms, but there was no significant damaged involved.
