Lori Ballengee is retiring as the Allegany County Director of Public Health. She was honored Monday afternoon during the legislature meeting. Her career spanned many years. Legislature Chair Curt Crandall chronicled he career with the county and her several positions, but offered a special thanks for the 24/7 (literally) oversight of the coronavirus pandemic since March. Ballengee was praised for about 20 minutes and when she was offered a chance to speak...in classic fashion, she encouraged residents to get their flu shots.
