On Friday, members of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to Route 78, in the Town of Java, for a report of a motorcycle accident. Eric D. Reinhart, 67, of Holland, was traveling northbound on Route 78 when his motorcycle exited the roadway and collided with a road culvert. Reinhart was ejected off the motorcycle and sustained life-threatening injuries. Reinhart was transported to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight where it was reported he later succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is continuing. Assisting at the scene were members of the Wyoming County Crash Management Team, North Java Fire Department, and Mercy Flight.
