Wellsville man charged with damaging fire system at county jail

On 03/24/2025 Deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff's Office arrested CHRISTOPHER JACKSON, age 46, of Wellsville, NY for Reckless Endangerment in the 2^nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment of Property, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Criminal Nuisance in the 2^nd Degree for an incident which occurred at the Allegany County Jail in which JACKSON allegedly intentionally damaged part of the fire suppression causing an activation of the system resulting in water damage and a loss of the suppression system for a period of time. JACKSON was arraigned in CAP Court and held at the Allegany County Jail to await further court proceedings. Additional charges are pending.
