Danny was raised in and attended Whitesville Central School. For 9 ½ years he was a Master Butcher at the Tops in Wellsville. Outside of his employment he was a volunteer with Community Action Angels, The Eagle’s Motorcycle Club, and was often the unsung hero in collaboration with Barbie’s outreach efforts - delivering all that she facilitated. In the past year alone, he delivered wreaths for the SPCA, party supplies for Northern Potter School District’s Christmas Party for grades 1 – 3, and items for Ulysess’ Toys for Tots Drive. His favorite hobbies included fishing, trapping, hunting, and woodworking, especially with his grandson Brock.
In addition to his friend and former wife, Barbie, he is survived by: two children, Anthony (Jennifer) Mattison of Wellsville, and Ashley Mattison of Ulysses; a father-figure to Helen Newman and Shannon Haggerty; blessed with many grandchildren; three siblings, Darren Mattison, Justin Mattison, and Dawn Mattison; two step-siblings, Joe Mattison and Judy Mattison; as well as several nieces and nephews.
