Democratic Election Clerk
Salary $36,400 annually.
This position performs clerical work of a routine nature performed under the direct supervision of the Commissioners of Elections and/or Deputy Commissioners of Elections. Evening and weekend work may be required. (The incumbent may be required to travel to different work locations). Performs related work as required.

Performs clerical duties to include, but not limited to, creating and maintaining files; creating and sending correspondences and mailings; creating and maintaining records; answering the telephone, email inquiries, and greeting visitors;
Assists with election night activities;
Compiles election statistics;
Registers prospective voters;
Draws and reads election maps;
Sorts, indexes and files materials;
May assist with the trainings of election personnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) Must be a legal resident of Allegany County, and
(b) Must be a Registered Democrat (no exceptions-required by law)
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Possession of appropriate level driver’s license is required at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout the time of service in this classification.
