Drew Eric HEISEY, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2025, at the age of 39. Born March 14, 1986, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Daryl and Linda Peters Heisey of Rexville, NY.
Growing up on a farm, Drew developed a strong work ethic from an early age, helping with daily chores and responsibilities. He cherished the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing, hunting, and riding with friends. In more recent years, Drew also developed a love for golf, a sport where he found peace and joy, often enjoying the game with those closest to him.
A 2004 graduate of Whitesville Central School, Drew excelled in athletics, with basketball being his lifelong passion. One of his proudest moments came during his senior year when he led his team to the State finals alongside his best friends and family, and supported by the unwavering spirit of his tight-knit community.
After high school, Drew continued his education at Messiah College, earning a B.S. degree in Business in just 3.5 years. Always eager to explore new opportunities, he embarked on an eight-week international business trip to Europe with his classmates. His professional journey began as an accountant at Farm Credit of WNY in Hornell, NY, before transitioning to CFO of Leo Dickon & Sons in Bath, NY.
With an entrepreneurial spirit and natural ability to learn new things, he successfully owned and operated several businesses. He continued his Grandpa Heisey’s seed business, expanded into vegetable storage treatment, and most recently, acquired Turf Master’s, providing lawn care services to Hornell and the surrounding areas.
On August 31, 2013, Drew married Elizabeth Dyckman, and together they were blessed with three children, Liam Jay, Daelyn Elizabeth, and Gavin Augustine. Drew cherished every moment spent with his children, whether attending their sporting events, sharing outdoor adventures or taking them to the family farm to swim in the pond, fish or ride the side-by-side. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Drew’s infectious smile could light up any room and his generous heart made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was a loyal friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. His kindness, warmth, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Daryl and Linda Heisey; his sister, Shalane (Tim) Cohen and their children, Olivia and Hadley; his brother, Dan Heisey and his children, Klayton, Easton, and Zailey; his sister, Daedre Heisey; his grandparents, Jay and Kate Heisey; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, including Kenneth and Daniel Billings. Those ready to greet him in heaven are his paternal grandmother, Catherine Heisey; and his maternal grandparents, Carl and Bertha Peters.
