Early voting setting new record in Allegany County

The lines were long, but voters were polite and there were few glitches during the early voting process this weekend in Allegany County. According to the Board of Elections in Belmont Sunday afternoon, 323 people voted today and 324 voted Saturday. Compare that to last year, when a total of just 274 people voted early over nine days.

Officials say that over the weekend, 277 registered Democrats voted early, 245 Republicans voted early, with the remainder being Independents.

The voter turnout in Allegany County topped several other counties, to include Livingston and Wyoming.
