Dear friends and family,
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carolyn June Pina (née Fanton) of Temecula, CA. She was a devoted wife and mother, adoring grandmother, caring sister, dear aunt, and treasured friend, who entered the presence of the Lord on February 13, 2025, at the age of 83.
Carolyn was born on January 6, 1942, in Wellsville, New York, to Carl and Helen Fanton. She shared a love of travel and music with her late husband, Horace, to whom she was married for fifteen years. Her values of compassion, kindness, and love for animals live on through her three children from previous marriages: Roger, Karyn, and Nancy. Carolyn worked as a certified nursing assistant, dedicating her days to providing basic care for patients in a convalescent home. She had a deep love for all animals and often took in homeless cats, dogs, and even the occasional rabbit, raccoon, rat, or bird. Carolyn also enjoyed games, especially crosswords, puzzles, and Bingo, earning herself the title of the “luckiest player” by friends at her weekly bingo night community event.
Carolyn is survived by her son Roger Lowe of Santa Clarita, CA; daughter Karyn Wochaski of Ramona, CA; daughter Nancy and husband Brent Snyder of Temecula, CA; sister Sally Evans of Stow, OH; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Though Carolyn’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her memories and the lessons she imparted upon us will live on, forever etched in our hearts.
With heartfelt sympathy,
The Family of Carolyn Pina
