Bath VA takes hit from DOGE

A VA official says DOGE efforts to rid the country of government waste, fraud and abuse is now hitting the Bath VA Medical Facility.

According to Linkedin, Lydia Delgado is a Public Affairs Officer for the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System. In response to the impact in Bath, Delgado told News18 WETM-TV in Elmira: “A small number of probationary staff have been dismissed. This decision will have no negative effect on Veteran health care, benefits, or other services and will allow VA to focus more effectively on its core mission of serving Veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors. We cannot discuss specific personnel matters due to privacy concerns.”

For 85 years, the site and facility and organization has assisted some 33,000 veterans in its coverage area.
