The Wellsville Board of Education Tuesday night voted unanimously to hire Aaron Wolfe as the new district superintendent. According to the district, "Mr. Wolfe brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership from his time at Panama Central and Olean City school districts." School Board President Jason Mattison (pictured right-photo courtesy of Wellsville Central) welcomed Mr. Wolfe to the district during the board meeting. Colleen Taggerty, a former Olean City School chief had been interim superintendent following the resignation of Dave Foster.
Before his time in Olean, Wolfe served in several roles in the Cattaraugus-Little Valley Central School District, including Elementary Principal, 2013-16; High School Principal, 2010-13; and UPK-12 Curriculum Coordinator from 2007-10. He began his professional career as a Staff Specialist for Instructional Excellence at Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES from 2003-07.
Wellsville Central School District has 1,173 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 11 to 1.
