Joel Violanti is now leads the U. S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York. He replaces (for now) Trini Ross, who submitted her resignation on February 14th. She became the first black woman to hold the position in the Western District of New York. Ross became a federal prosecutor in 1995.
Violanti will be in charge of the prosecution of any federal case within the 17 counties of Western New York, including Allegany County.
