Man admits to crime in Caneadea

A man from Sinclairville was in an Allegany County courtroom today when he admitted to a violent felony crime. The District Attorney's office reports that Benjamin Gray, 27, entered a plea of guilty to attempted burglary 2nd. He had been accused of breaking into a home in Caneadea on May 30, 2017 and stealing a compound bow, a laptop computer and a camera. Following his guilty plea, judge Thomas Brown sentenced him to six months in the Allegany County Jail, five years probation and ordered the man to make $969.09 in restitution.  Gray was represented by Peter Degnan. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Amanda Finn.
