Dale W. “Pud” Heusner “loving husband, father, and grandfather”
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.- Dale W. “Pud” Heusner, 77, of
Shinglehouse, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday,
June 26, 2018 after a lengthy illness.
Born on October 8, 1940 in Hanover, he was a son of Earl W.
and Doris E. Zinn Heusner. On January
31, 1976 in Shinglehouse, he married Pamela M. Tinsley, who survives.
Pud was a graduate of Eichelberger High School, Class of
1958, in Hanover and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He attended yearly reunions
of the USS Collett, which he sailed on during his Navy service.
Pud was employed as a fleet mechanic for MDS Laboratories in
Olean, N.Y. and was also the fleet service supervisor for Adelphia
Communications in Coudersport until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Hanover
and attended the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. Pud was a member of Shinglehouse American
Legion Post 530 and a member of the Potter County Honor Guard. He was a 55 year life member of the Eagle
Fire Company #2 in Hanover. He loved hunting, fishing, his yearly fishing trip
to Oneida Lake, and making sauerkraut.
He had a great love for people and loved to make them laugh.
Surviving besides his wife are four children, Lori M.
Heusner of Hanover, Lois A. (Joe) Von Sas of McSherrystown, Dean (Tammy)
Heusner of York, and Doris Heusner of Hanover; five grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Heusner of Hanover.
In addition to his parents, Pud was predeceased by a sister,
Diane Heusner.
In keeping with Pud’s wishes, there will be no public
visitation. A celebration of Pud’s life
will be held on a date and place to be announced.

Cole Memorial Home Health and Hospice, 102-108 South Main Street, Coudersport,
PA 16915 or to the Potter County Honor Guard, c/o Gordon Visseau, 48 Wapsena
Road, Little Genesee, NY 14754.
Pud’s family has entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury,
funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
