County Wide Shared Services Initiative Draft Plan Public Hearing

Allegany County will conduct the first of three scheduled Public Hearings on June 26, 2018 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Belmont BOCES to address the proposed County Wide Shared Services Initiative (CWSSI).  The CWSSI plan has been prepared for public input in compliance with Legislative Statutes requiring that each county to develop a plan designed to share services and reduce the local tax burden.
This process was begun in June 2017 and, with the assistance of consultants from the Center for Government Research (CGR), has continued to this point.  The Public Hearing is designed to receive input on the proposed options identified throughout this process.  Participants in the development of this proposal have included the chief elected official from each town or village as well as representation from the Allegany County Board of Legislators.
The DRAFT document is available to be viewed on the Allegany County website at www.alleganyco.com  and can be found under quick links on the main page for easy access. In addition, the DRAFT document is also available for viewing on the County Administrator-Shared Services page.
Individuals seeking to attend the Public Hearing and provide testimony are asked to contact the Allegany County Administrator’s Office at 585-268-9217 to pre-register.  Testimony will be limited to five (5) minutes per person and you will be requested to provide a written copy of your testimony.
Individuals with questions regarding the content or seeking clarification of the draft document can contact Paul Bishop of CGR ahead of the hearing on June 26th.  He can be reached at pbishop@cgr.org or 585-327-7068.
