Michael P. Neu "Loving Husband, Son & Father"
WEST CLARKSVILLE - Michael P. Neu, of 2014 Route 305, passed
away on June 21, 2018, at his home following an illness, surrounded by his
loving wife and family. Mike was born on April 24, 1951 in Cuba and was the son
of Paul W. and Phyllis Childs Neu. On Dec. 6, 1969, at the Portville
Presbyterian Church, he married his wife of 48 years, Kathleen M. Wojtanik, who
survives.
Mike was a 1968 graduate of Richburg High School. He
continued his education at Corning Community College, Alfred State and St.
Bonaventure University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration in 1979 as Suma Cum Laude. Mike began working at his family
business "Neu Disposal" and then as a scheduler at Dresser Rand for a
number of years. Mike then worked at AVX as a supervisor before returning to
his family business which he sold to Cassella in 1998. During his retirement
years he worked at the Olean Medical Group as a courier from 2013 to 2018.
Michael enjoyed old cars, especially working on his
grandmothers 1934 Ford and his 1969 GTO. He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed
flying his father’s Cessna plane. Michael also enjoyed camping, boating,
canoeing, and playing poker with the local club. He always put others first,
quietly without recognition. Michael always supported his family to the fullest
and loved them dearly.
Along with his loving
wife, Michael is survived by; his parents Paul and Phyllis Neu of Cuba; 2 sons,
Mark W. (Elaiza) Neu of Cuba and Jeffery M. Neu of Charlotte, NC; 4
grandchildren, Claudia E., Patrick W., Lauren P., and Joshua M.; 3 sisters
Kathlie D. (David) Organ of Nova Scotia, Nancy (Jame) Burdick of Black
Creek/Cuba, and Boni (Michael) Hennard of Caneadea; and several nieces and
nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Memorial gathering will be held in the
Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba Friday June 29,
2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.. A private
memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may
be made to donor’s choice. Online
