Bridge replacement planned for Town of Alfred

961G over Canacadea Creek, Town of Alfred
Allegany County

The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that work will begin on Monday, April 16, 2018, on 961G in the town of Alfred, County of Allegany.
RT 961G, also known as Hamilton Hill Road will be closed to traffic.  Motorists will be required to follow detour via State Route 21 north to State Route 244 south. The closure will last for approximately four months. 
This closure is to replace the bridge over Canacadea Creek and for drainage upgrades, highway improvements and new sidewalks.  The work for this project will be performed by The LC Whitford Co. Inc.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
