Allegany County: You get arrested when you shoot a dog unlawfully

On Wednesday, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) from the Amity barracks arrested Marvin L. Wells, 64, of Amity for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a class "E" felony.
On April 21, troopers responded to a home on Stryker Road in the town of Amity for a report of a dog possibly being shot. Further investigation revealed that Wells allegedly shot a canine for no legitimate purpose with a firearm. Wells was arrested and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Amity Court on May 2.
