Allegany Arc is holding a 5K Raffle Run/Walk on Saturday,
May 19, 2018. The race begins at 9:30am with a starting point at Allegany Arc’s
Shine Facility at 240 O’Connor Street in Wellsville, New York. The 3.1 mile
course begins at Allegany Arc and winds through the streets of Wellsville,
ending back at Allegany Arc.
Heather Perkins, Event Chairperson, said “We are very
thankful for the amazing amount of support we have received from not only
sponsors for the event but also people participating and volunteering. We
already have over 80 people registered and are hoping even more will join us.
This year there will be a raffle/prize element added to the race, “said
Perkins. “Your bib is your raffle ticket; prizes will be randomly attached to
finish line crosses. If you finish in a designated prize slot, you win. There
will be cash prizes for the overall winner, 2nd and 3rd places and all event
participants will be entered into a Grand Prize drawing for $100.”
Sponsors for this year’s event include: Alfred Pharmacy,
Alco Federal Credit Union, Relph Benefit Advisors, Upstate Pharmacy, Otis
Eastern, Univera, Valic, PM Research, First Citizens Community Bank, Spinelli’s
Taxidermy, Tops Friendly Markets and Save-A-Lot.
Proceeds from the Community 5K Run/Walk benefit Allegany
Arc’s Witkowski Development Project. The Witkowski Development Project located
at 2718 Andover Road in Wellsville will be an inclusive outdoor recreation
center for individuals served by Allegany Arc and the greater Wellsville
community.
