Voters in Allegany and Steuben counties are invited the
Allegany-Steuben “Meet the Candidates” night on Thursday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m.
at Genesee Valley Central School, 1 Jaguar Drive, Belmont, NY.
Get up close and personal with the five candidates seeking
support in the upcoming Democratic primary election. The winner of this race will go on to run for
a seat representing NYs 23rd congressional district in November. The 23rd Congressional District
includes all of Allegany and Steuben counties.
The following candidates have submitted their petitions and
will appear on the ballot in the June 26th primary. Collectively they obtained more than 14,000
signatures from registered voters in the congressional district they seek to
represent.
Linda Andrei, a physician, wife and mother, believes now is
the time to use her experience, expertise, and energy to serve our country. She
is committed to address what she thinks is the major issue of our time – health
care -- which intersects economics, education, and safety.
Max Della Pia lives in Owego, Tioga County. A retired
Colonel in the Air Force, he received a brevet promotion to Brigadier General
for distinguished service, as well as a Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit. In
addition to his career in the Armed Forces, Della Pia has worked in the private
sector as an attorney, and in business development for Lockheed Martin.
Small business-owner Ian Golden is campaigning to bring his
down-to-earth, practical business skills to the nation's capital, as well as
his dedication to family, community, and country. He will represent his
constituents with integrity, and focus his attention on the economy, health
care, and cleaning up our government.
Tracy Mitrano is a New York state native, long-time
academic, and an expert in cyber security. She believes her combination of
working class roots and higher education coupled with her expertise in I.T.
uniquely qualifies her to represent the 23rd district in Congress.
Born and raised in Jamestown, NY, Eddie Sundquist is
passionate about helping the people and families of the Southern Tier. He is an
attorney, educator, and community activist who truly believes politics should
be about people, not power.
