SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Lucille Kemp Maxson, 97, of
Shinglehouse, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017, in Sweden Valley Manor,
Coudersport.
Born on August 30, 1919 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter
of Lou L. and Lena E. Mix Kemp. On
November 20, 1937 in Shinglehouse, she married Welcome R. Maxson, who passed
away on May 27, 1990.
Mrs. Maxson was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School,
Class of 1937.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse
and a member and past matron of Eureka Chapter #52 O.E.S. in Shinglehouse. She enjoyed knitting and quilting.
Surviving are two sons, Gary L. Maxson and Lawrence C.
“Buck” Maxson, both of Shinglehouse; seven grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law,
Joanne Maxson of Shinglehouse.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Maxson was
predeceased by a son, Ronald W. Maxson; a grandson, Ronnie W. Maxson; a
great-grandson, Cameron Maxson; and a brother, Richard L. Kemp.
Family and friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday,
August 20, 2017 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street,
Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse,
officiating. Burial will be in Maple
Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
Members of Eureka Chapter #52 O.E.S. will conduct an Eastern
Star service following the funeral service on Sunday in the funeral home.
