The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that asphalt pavement overlay work will begin on Interstate 390 on Tuesday, August 29, 2017, weather permitting.  The project will extend from Interstate 86 in Kanona to Neils Creek in Wallace, for a total of approximately 5.5 miles.  Asphalt pavement overlay work will also be done on Michigan Hollow Road in Avoca, as well as all 4 ramps at Exit 1 in Avoca, and the Interstate 390 southbound to Interstate 86 westbound ramp in Kanona.  The scope of this project includes the town of Avoca in Steuben County.
Motorists will encounter flaggers, lane closures and could experience travel delays.  It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter this season.
