Esther C. Fairbanks, 87, of 2701 Rte. 305, West Clarksville,
and formerly of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Cuba
Memorial Hospital. Born on March 24, 1930, in Olean, she was a daughter of
Harley D. and Ruth E. Chamberlain Gleason.
In 1951, she married Llewellyn Fairbanks who predeceased her in 1995.
Esther was a graduate of Belfast High School. She had worked for Schrivers Market in Cuba
for many years and later went to work for Fillmore Market Basket which later
became the Fillmore Jubilee retiring as Bakery Manager at age 78.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be
dearly missed by her family. She was a
lifelong bowler, loved the casino and traveling to Las Vegas each year with her
family.
She is survived by a son, Stephen (Wanda) Fairbanks of Rushford;
2 daughters, Deborah (James) Walsh of West Clarksville and Cynthia (Steven)
Crowley of Cuba; 6 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary
Lilly and several nieces and nephews. In
addition to her parents she was predeceased by three sons Theodore, Michael,
and Philip Fairbanks, two brothers Ike Gleason and Leslie Gleason, and three
sisters, Helen Grastorf, Fern Schiralli, and Rita Kolish.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside Services in White Cemetery, Rushford, will be held at the
convenience of the family.
