WHAT: Congressman Reed will hold a press conference with law enforcement and community leaders in an effort to bring to light the problem of opioid abuse across our region. Reed will also discuss his legislation, the HELP Act, which increases penalties on drug dealers who sell heroin laced with fentanyl. If a user dies, the dealer can be sentenced with life in prison or the death penalty. The Thin Blue Line Act will also be discussed.
