BATH – Former Steuben County Sheriff David Cole has endorsed county Assistant District Attorney Patrick McAllister, of Wayland, in McAllister’s bid for county Surrogate Court Judge. "I have known Patrick McAllister for many years and know of his service to Steuben County," said Cole, who retired as county sheriff in 2016, after more than 20 years in the department. "Patrick has volumes of experience and I feel compelled to state why I personally believe he is the best person to serve as Surrogate Court Judge." Cole cited McAllister’s long years of service as an attorney for children in hundreds of local Family Court cases. "Patrick McAllister has a passion for the rights of children and victims," Cole said. "He gives voice to those who are most affected in our family courts."
Cole also noted McAllister’s experience in courtrooms, serving Steuben County twice as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors. "But he also has a perspective from both sides of the criminal justice system, since he has served as Assigned Counsel for criminal defense cases," Cole said. Cole also noted McAllister’s three terms on the Steuben County Legislature, working on behalf of the residents of Steuben County to make our County a better place to live, work and raise a family. "Based on Patrick's resume, character and integrity, I firmly believe he is the most enlightened choice and perfect fit for Steuben County Surrogate Court Judge," Cole said.
