Myra F. Crippen, 74, of Genesee, PA, died Sunday, August 20,
2017 in her home. Born February 3, 1943,
in Troupsburg, NY, she was the daughter of Elwood A. and Evelyn P. Winfield
Mattison. A graduate of Northern Potter
High School, she earned an associate’s degree in business from Alfred State
College. On November 28, 1959, in Potter
Brook, PA, she married Gordon C. Crippen, who predeceased her on July 26,
1984. On August 22, 2015, in West
Bingham, PA, she married Bruce I. Metcalf, who survives. She was employed by Frontier Telephone
Company as a systems administrator. She
was a charter board member of the Genesee Area Library, served as a 4-H leader,
Girl Scout Leader, and on the Genesee Township Board of Election. Myra was a meals-on-wheels and soup kitchen
volunteer in Deland, FL. Surviving
besides her husband, Bruce Metcalf, are:
four children, Randy Crippen of Genesee, Kimberly (William Berg) Crippen
of Mohnton, PA, David (Barbara Levan) Crippen of Lawrenceville, PA, and Karin
(Michael Brennan) Crippen of New York, NY;
two-stepchildren, Dean Metcalf of Deland, FL and Beth Plaskocinski of
Mt. Morris, NY; two grandchildren,
Gordon Crippen of Mohnton and Travis (Corrina) Crippen of Great Falls, MT; several step-grandchildren and
step-great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Nona Kay Bean of Shinglehouse, PA and Barbara Lee (David) Benton of
Coudersport, PA; an aunt, Eleanor
Mattison of Stafford, NY; nieces and
nephews. In addition to her first
husband, she was predeceased by an infant son, Gordon C. Crippen, Jr.; and a sister, Carol A. Mattison. A time celebrating Myra’s life will be
announced at a later date. Burial will
be in Riverview Cemetery, Potter Brook, PA.
