Cuba Police, Deputies discover nearly 100 marijuana plants, arrest made

On August 3rd, 2017 following an investigation into illegal drug activity in the Village of Cuba, the Cuba Police Department in conjunction with the Allegany County Sheriff's Office and Allegany County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division arrested Scott M. Griffith, 48, of Cuba. Griffith was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminal possession of marijuana in the 2nd degree and unlawfully growing cannabis by an unlicensed person. Griffith was arraigned in the Town of Cuba Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail and $20,000.00 bond.
These charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Village of Cuba at approximately 2:00 p.m. on August 3rd, 2017 where approximately 95 marijuana plants were seized along with other narcotics with a conservative street value of approximately $100,000.00. Griffith is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Cuba Police Department would like to thank the Allegany County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit for their instrumental role in this operation.
