Alfred State: Western Equestrian wraps up regular season with a strong showing

The Alfred State Western Equestrian team wrapped up the regular season with another strong showing at the Bromeley -Daggett Equestrian Center. The Pioneers were the high-point team in the afternoon session after finishing as the reserve high-point team in the morning.

Ashley Wolfe (Painted Post, NY) rode to high-point rider in the afternoon show after winning in Open Horsemanship and Reining. Wolfe was second in both of her events in the morning show. 

Teammate Abigail Hurd (Belmont, NY) was the reserve high-point rider after winning Ranch Riding and finishing third in Open Horsemanship.

Hadley Amyot (Liverpool, NY) won Beginner Horsemanship in the PM show while Madeline Cassanova (Cicero) won Rookie B Horsemanship. Alexandra Hurd (Belmont, NY) was second in Open Horsemanship in both shows.

Jordan Henry (Randolph, NY) rounded out the top two finishers for the Pioneers with a second-place finish in Level 1 Horsemanship.

Wolfe is one of four Pioneers to qualify for the IHSA Western Regionals. She will compete in both the Open Horsemanship and the Open Reining competition. Alexandra Hurd will compete in Level 2 Horsemanship and Level 2 Ranch Riding, Amyot will represent in Beginner, and Henry will battle in Rookie B.

The IHSA Western Regionals will be held at Alfred University on March 8. The top performers will advance to the IHSA Western Semifinals.
