Obituary: Marie L. “Dolly” Richardson, 86, of Coudersport

Marie L. “Dolly” Richardson      “beloved mother and grandmother”

COUDERSPORT, PA---Marie L. “Dolly” Richardson, 86, of Coudersport, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, a week after suffering a massive stroke.

Born on Monday, November 8, 1937 in Philadelphia, a daughter of Gustavae G. and Lydia E. Bytheway Kindt.  On March 31, 1956 in Chester, PA, she married William L. Richardson, who passed away on December 29, 2009.

Dolly was employed as a cafeteria worker and was a volunteer ombudsman for Potter County nursing homes and personal care homes.

Dolly was a member of North Eulalia Baptist Church in Coudersport.  She loved puzzling and was the treasurer of the garden club at the Freeman House in Coudersport.  Dolly loved to cook and bake.  She also loved dogs of all kinds, always carrying treats on her walker for the dogs around her.  She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Surviving are a son,William L. Richardson, Jr; a daughter, Kate (Jeff) Reynold; seven grandchildren, Robert Jr.  (Alisha) Tomac, Casey L. A. (Jessica) Tomac, Amber Richardson, Thomas (Amy) Loeffer, Chris Richardson, Nate (Rene) Richardson, and Steve Richardson; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Moyers; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolly was predeceased by a son Thomas W. Richardson; and many brothers and sisters.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2pm on Saturday,  October 5, 2024, at North Eulalia Baptist Church, 683 State Route 49, Coudersport with Pastor Mike Reeves, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dolly’s name may be made to North Eulalia Baptist Church, 683 State Route 49, Coudersport, PA 16915.

Dolly’s family entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
