Obituary: Jeannette M. Buck, 86, Gold, PA
Jeannette M. BUCK, 85, of Gold, PA, died Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport. Born February 5, 1939, in Wellsville, NY, she was the daughter of Chester H. and Betsey E. Young Morley. On April 4, 1959, in Gold, she married Robert A. Buck, who predeceased her on November 27, 2008. A 1957 graduate of Northern Potter High School, she earned a degree in nursing from St. Francis School of Practical Nursing in Olean, NY in 1983. She was employed by Cole Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide and an LPN. Jeannette authored a weekly newspaper column, Words of Gold, for many years which was published in book form in two anthologies. She was a member of Gold Church and served as a volunteer with Potter County Hospice. Surviving are: two sons, Eric (Rhonda) Buck and Erin (Dina) Buck, both of Gold; five grandchildren, Rheanna Buck, Brian (Alex Lilley) Buck, Jesse (Amanda) Buck, Jenna Buck, and Brandon (Mikayla) Buck; a foster son, Curt (Brenda) Silsby of Sparta, WI and his children, Rick, Christopher, and Michelle; two great-granddaughters, Ashtyn and Adley; three sisters, Peg Parshall of Athens, Kathy Soule of Gold, and Cindy Alackness of Roulette; a brother, Daniel (Nancy) Morley of Gold; nieces and nephews; and many cousins, including Stephen (Polly) Morley. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Evan Robert Buck; and a sister, Jane Daniels. Friends may call at Gold Church, 2402 State Rte 49, Ulysses, PA on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 4:00 PM. Rev. Cameron Cowburn will officiate. Burial will be in Raymond Cemetery, Allegany Twp. Memorials may be made to Gold Church, 2402 State Rte 49, Ulysses, PA 16948.
