LIVONIA - Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty advises of a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred in the Village of Livonia.
On July 19th, 2024 at approximately 1:24pm multiple members of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office responded to 40 Big Tree Street, the 7-Eleven convenience store in the Village of Livonia, for the report of a vehicle that drove into the front of the business through the front doors.
It was initially reported to the Livingston County Dispatch Center that there was a baby trapped under the vehicle. Law Enforcement and emergency personnel quickly arrived on scene and determined that initial reports were inaccurate. It was found that a 13-year-old male, along with his mother, were struck by the vehicle while attempting to exit the store.
Both the child and mother sustained minor injuries and were later transported to the hospital for further medical care. The operator and her passenger remained on scene and were not injured during the course of events. The operator was later transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
Assisting with the incident were members of the Livingston County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Livonia EMS, Livingston County EMS, and Livonia Fire Department.
