Obituary: Betty M. METCALF, 92, of Harrison Valley, PA
Betty M. METCALF, 92, of Harrison Valley, PA, died Monday, July 8, 2024 in her home. Born March 17, 1932, in Harrison Township, she was the daughter of Ivan L. and Myra I. Outman Kibbe. On March 25, 1950, in Harrison Valley, she married Fred H. Metcalf, who predeceased her on August 10, 2007. She was employed by the glove factory in Westfield, Galeton Production, and served as the Harrison Valley Postmaster for over 25 years. She and her husband owned and operated Kibbe’s Busymart in Harrison Valley for over 30 years. Betty was a member of the Harrison Township Firemen’s Auxiliary, Harrison Valley Community Ballpark Association, and served as chairman of the Potter County Heart Fund. Surviving are: a son, Larry “Bear” Metcalf of Harrison Valley; a daughter, Sherrie Truax of Harrison Valley; five grandchildren, Brett (Leslie Dunbar) Metcalf, Michael Metcalf, A.J. Metcalf, Angela (Mark) Lewis, and Cody (Lindsey) Metcalf; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla Metcalf, Bryson Metcalf, Kendra Metcalf, Jace Metcalf, Grayson Metcalf, Ryleigh Metcalf, Malachi Lewis, Moriah Lewis, and Mattea Lewis; a brother, Theodore Kibbe of Galeton; a sister, Loveda Potter of Harrison Valley; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Ray Truax; five sisters, Arloene Jones, Mary Lou Kibbe, Virginia Lampman, Beverly Tormey, and Violet; and five brothers, Byron “Jum” Kibbe, Jacob H. Kibbe, Cleon Kibbe, Russell L. Kibbe, and Ivan L. “Ike” Kibbe, Jr. Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Crematory, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM. Rev. John Minor will officiate. Burial will be in Whites Corners Cemetery.
