Belmont, NY – The Allegany County
Democrats collected multiple bags/boxes
of non-perishable food and personal care items when they met recently in Wellsville.
The collected goods were donated to the Catholic Charities Joyce Family Food
Pantry. This service project is one of the ways the Democratic Committee lives
its motto: “Serving our Community.”
Catholic Charities’ Food Pantry and
Thrift Store, which opened in the fall of 2012, serves an average of 3,000
people each month. The Food Pantry, located at 67 East Pearl St., Wellsville, operates
Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Thrift Store is open
Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and accepts donations in good,
clean condition. For more information, please call 585-296-3757.
“We’re so grateful for the support of the Allegany County Democrats and their generous donation to our pantry and outreach,” states James Campbell, parish outreach specialist, “On average our food pantry serves between 100 to 150 families each month, supplying each member in the household with a three to five day supply of food across the major food groups, so donations like these truly come in handy.”
