Robert E. Borne, 83, of Wellsville, NY, died Tuesday, July
23, 2024 in Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Wellsville. Born April 15, 1941, in Bronx, he was the son
of Henry J. and Dorothea Andrews Borne.
On July 27, 1985, in Andover, he married the former Brenda J. Graves,
who survives. He served honorably with
the U.S. Army as a mechanic. Bob was
employed by Dresser Rand in Wellsville as an assembler for 40 years and served
as a negotiator for the union for many years.
He was a member of Wellsville Moose #601, where he served as past
governor, member and honor guard member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post
#702, member of Frank B. Church VFW Post #2530, and a life member and past
captain of the Dyke St. Engine Co. #2, serving actively for 42 years. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing at Black Lake,
watching birds and deer, helping with the fire company’s chicken barbeques, and
most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, Brenda, are: a
daughter, Kimberly Borne Moon of White Sulphur Springs, WV; three
step-children, Ann Piscitelli Judd of Red Oak, NC, Mark (Kelly) Piscitelli of
Wellsville, and Kevin (Michelle) Bennett of Wellsville; eight grandchildren,
Jeremy Borne, Christopher Button, Jordan Judd, William Piscitelli, Trey
Piscitelli, James Piscitelli, Madison Bennett, and Hannah Bennett; a brother,
Henry (Cynthia) Borne of Rochester, NH; a brother-in-law, Gregory Graves of
Avon; his mother-in-law, Marguerite Graves of Pittsford; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Borne.
Cremation was at OLNEY-FOUST Private Crematory. Memorials may be made to Dyke St. Engine Co.
