NY: State Police investigate a serious injury motorcycle accident involving 2 off duty State Troopers in Sodus

PRESS RELEASE
On August 10, 2019, at approximately 9:29 a.m., the State Police responded to a serious injury accident that involved two motorcycles operated by two off duty State Troopers.
Both motorcycles were traveling eastbound on State Route 104 near Redman Road in the Town of Sodus, when the lead motorcycle, operated by Sgt. Steven Mowers slowed for an uninvolved accident.  The second motorcycle, operated by Trooper Michael Burdett, was unable to slow in time and struck Mower's motorcycle from behind.
Burdett was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight with serious injuries.
Mowers was also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with a leg injury.
Burdett is currently in serious but stable condition and Mowers has been treated and released.
