Robert H. Kenyon, 82, of Genesee, PA, died Thursday, August
22, 2019 in his home. Born March 20,
1937, in Wellsville, NY, he was the son of Howard G. and Dorothea L. McConeghy
Kenyon. On March 24, 1958, in Rockville,
MD, he married the former Sandra R. Burger, who survives. Bob attended Genesee High School through his
sophomore year and graduated from Wellsville Central School, and earned a
degree in business administration from Susquehanna University. Bob was a member of Genesee Boy Scout Troop
#25 and was Genesee’s first Eagle Scout. He was employed by F.W. Woolworth in
management, owned and operated a local business in Genesee, and was employed by
Miller and Richard Masonry. He served as
Genesee Township secretary/treasurer for several years, Genesee Cemetery secretary/treasurer
and caretaker, Potter County Planning Commission member, Genesee Volunteer
Ambulance crew member, and Genesee Volunteer Fire Company member. Bob
volunteered part-time at Reed’s Market in his retirement years. He was a member of the Gold Church and served
as secretary/treasurer of the Men’s Community Prayer Breakfast group. Bob enjoyed cross-country skiing, canoeing,
and he ran in the Potter County Marathon.
Surviving besides his wife, Sandra, are:
three daughters, Kim (Terry) Snyder of Genesee, Jacquelyn (Melvin) Blake
of Genesee, and Sabra (Mark) Wilson of Tyrone, GA; seven grandchildren, Shelle
(Benjamin) Lee of Fombell, Shane (April) Blake of North Bingham, Shawn (David)
Taylor of Aylett, VA, Seth (Melissa) Blake of Corning, NY, Sidra (Tyler) Hicks
of Brewster, WA, Christopher Wilson of Tyrone, GA, and Chyanne (Justin) Smith
of Rowley, MA; 12
great-grandchildren; a sister, Verena
Ruddnick of Zephyrhills, FL; several
nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was
predeceased by a sister, Doris K. Reed.
Friends may call at the Gold Church, 2402 SR 49 W, Ulysses, PA on
Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service
following at 11:00 a.m.. The Rev. Frank
Mickle will officiate. A luncheon will
follow in the church social room. Burial
will be in Genesee Cemetery on a later date.
