Wellsville resident: "If there's a fire, they won't get out"

Dan Martelle explains his concern to village officials
A long-time Wellsville resident approached the village board Monday night saying he has had enough. Dan Martelle lives on Harder Place across from the Wellsville Secondary school on West State Street. He told the Board a neighboring home was in a state of disrepair. Martelle said he has reached out to the Code Enforcement Office as well as the Department of Health. He told village officials  that "if there if a fire...they won't get out." Village leaders peppered Martell with question, which is answered one by one. He concluded by saying "I'm hoping the village will help me take a stance." While no official action was taken at the meeting, Martelle said he understood...and simply hoped that the Village would examine the issue. He said he planned to be a regular fixture at future meetings.
