A Whitesville school teacher has submitted his resignation effective August 31st. Social Studies teacher Jeff Acor decided to leave the district after he created a controversy with a yearbook posting in which he said his favorite person in history was "Adolf Hitler." One of his quotes was “Adolf made many great strides to make Germany a world super power.” The comments stirred quite a fire storm. The school district issued this statement on its website:
Dear Community:
While we continue to address the yearbook matter, we want to be clear.  Any message that may promote or condone hate, regardless of intent, has no place in our school.  The District remains committed to tolerance, mutual respect and dignity for all persons.
Be assured that we are reviewing the entire matter with all of our attention and steps are being taken so that it does not happen again.
