Two killed, 10 injured in van crash on I-95 in North Carolina - victims were from downstate NY

The investigation continues into a vehicle crash that killed two men and injured ten other people. It happened late Saturday night on I-95 in Cumberland County, NC, near Fayetteville. Killed in the crash were 31-year-old Louis Alfarodo of the Bronx and 44-year-old Rafael Perez of Yonkers.  The North Carolina Highway Patrol said a van was northbound and on the way to the New York City area. Troopers said the van drifted off the highway and struck a tree. Investigators right now believe the driver may have fallen asleep. There was no initial evidence of alcohol or drug involvement. No one is the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt. The victims, in serious and critical conditions, were transported to three different hospitals.
