Obituary: Laura A. Harder, 92, Alma
Laura A. Harder, 92, of the Stone Dam Road, Town of Alma,
Wellsville, NY, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in her home. Born November 5, 1925, in the Town of
Willing, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Grace Marshall Hunt, one of eleven children. On October 26, 1946, in Wellsville, she
married Robert L. Harder, who predeceased her on March 20, 2016. A homemaker, she and her husband owned and
operated a farm for many years.
Surviving are: three children,
Willis L. Harder of Wellsville, Sharon L. (Stephen) Ritter of Friendship, NY,
and Dawn M. Ordway of Wellsville; six
grandchildren, Robert J. (Karen) Harder of Cuba, Janis (Steven) Hofbauer of
Buffalo, Stephen Ritter of Niagara Falls, Jeffrey Ritter of Olean, Dennis Ordway
of Wellsville, and Darla (Kevin) Petrinec of Alden; eight great-grandchildren, Gavin Ritter,
Logan Harder, Amaya Ritter, Grace Petrinec, Kevin Petrinec, Michael Petrinec,
Trenton Schoonover, and Cheyenne Dahill;
a brother, Lester A. Hunt of Wellsville;
a sister-in-law, Margaret S. Hunt of Whitesville; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was
predeceased by four brothers, Lawrence Hunt, Leon Hunt, Lyle Hunt, Larue “Rudy”
Hunt; and five sisters, Lena Reed, Lytie
Harder, Loretta Lewis, Leola Halladay, and Lois Hunt. A Graveside Service will be held in Yorks
Corners Cemetery on a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of the
donor’s choice. Arrangements are
