Vivian B. Cornell, 98, of Genesee, PA, formerly of Ulysses,
PA, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA. Born May 23, 1919, in Bingham Township, PA,
she was the daughter of Arling M. and Rosa Howe Barker. She was married to Leo E. Cornell, who
predeceased her on April 19, 1966. She
was a 1937 graduate of Ulysses High School.
Vivian and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm for many years
and she was employed in the Northern Potter School District cafeteria, retiring
in 1984. She was a member of the Ulysses
United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Ulysses Grange. Surviving are: three sons, Richard (Sherrill) Cornell of
Genesee, Carl (Joan) Cornell of Bracey, VA, and James (Judy) Cornell of
Ulysses; three daughters, Lois (Robert)
McIntosh of Pavilion, NY, Linda (Donald) Jeffers of Genesee, and Rita (Dennis)
Valleries of Genesee; 29
grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George H. (Rosella) Barker of
Ocala, FL; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was
predeceased by a son, Charles M. “Sonny” Cornell; a brother, Charles R. Barker; two sisters, Marie Lent and Aurelia
Moser; three grandsons, Leo J. Cornell,
R. Scott Jeffery, Brian Cornell; and a
great-grandson, Jimmy Cornell. Friends
may call Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Olney Funeral Home &
Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA. Funeral
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Ulysses United Methodist
Church. The Rev. Todd Lamer will
officiate. Burial will be in the
Whitesville Rural Cemetery. Memorials
