Flames ripped through a home late Tuesday afternoon at 352 N Main Street in Wellsville. When the first chief arrived on scene, he reported the first floor engulfed in flames. Wellsville firefighters were assisted by numerous nearby departments. According to online reports, at least three firefighters from Wellsville sustained injuries. All are recovering at home today. The stubborn blaze prompted ongoing requests for additional masked/interior firefighters to the scene. The two-family home is owned by Michael and Marcia Dunn of Coudersport. Occupants (7, reportedly) of the dwelling were displaced. Fire Chief Bill Cavanaugh finally declared the fire "out" at 2 a.m. Wednesday. The cause is under investigation.
