OLEAN, N.Y. – The HomeCare & Hospice Foundation will
celebrate its 22nd annual Hospice Walk and Run on Saturday, May 19th at 10 a.m.
on the Allegheny River Trail, located at the west entrance of St. Bonaventure
University. Pre-registration will begin
at 9 a.m. The event will help raise
public awareness for hospice services and provide families the opportunity to
honor lost loved ones. All runners,
walkers, strollers, wheelchairs and pets are welcome!
“I encourage everyone in our community to come out and join
our walk,” Victoria Kearns, communications director, said. “Hospice can make
all the difference in the last days and weeks of a person’s life. That medical
and spiritual care comes with a high price tag.
Thanks to the generosity of our compassionate sponsors and walk
participants, we are able to ensure everyone who comes to us for end of life
care, receives all they need.”
Participants are encouraged to create teams and raise
pledges from family, friends and co-workers.
Money raised from the event will support the agency in raising awareness
of the available services and resources the agency provides throughout the
community.
The event is family-friendly and will include a live radio
remote from one of the area’s top stations, pizza after the race and trophies
and awards. Vendors from throughout the
community will be on-site participating in other raffles and providing great
prizes.
Top pledge earners will win grand prizes, including two round-trip
tickets anywhere in the United States, compliments of Southwest Airlines. Those who raise $50 or more will be placed in
drawings and raffles for other great gifts.
All walkers who get at least one donation will receive a gift,
compliments of HomeCare & Hospice.
Go crazy for a great cause and create a team with your
coworkers, friends and family! To register, or to donate a basket for our
raffle, please visit www.homecare-hospice.org/hospice-walk-2018 or call Nick
