Wyoming County Sheriff's Blotter

August 3- Cindy Laurich, 55 of Java, was arrested for Driving While Impaired by Drugs following crash that occurred on Curriers Road in the Town of Java. Deputies responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident. Laurich had been operating a motorcycle northbound on Curriers Road and lost control of the bike while going around a curve. She was treated at the scene by Strykersville Ambulance for minor injuries. Laurich failed road side field sobriety tests and was arrested. Deputy Aaron Chase, a Drug Recognition Expert, alleges that Laurich was impaired by a drug following a Drug Influence Evaluation. Laurich was released on appearance tickets and is to appear in the Town of Java Court at a later date. 

August 5- Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 20A and the intersection of French Road in the Town of Sheldon for a two vehicle collision. It was determined that Daniel LaClair, 29 of Clinton County, had been operating his pick up truck eastbound behind the other involved vehicle on State Route 20A approaching the intersection with French Road. When the second vehicle slowed to turn on to French Road, LaClair rear ended the vehicle. No serious injuries resulted from the collision. LaClair failed roadside sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. He submitted to a breath test which showed his BAC to be at or above 0.08%. LaClair was charged with Driving While Intoxicated as a misdemeanor, Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content at or Above 0.08% as a misdemeanor, and Following Too Closely. He is to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court on 08/28/2017 to answer the charges. Varysburg Fire Department assisted at the scene.

August 4 - The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to the complaint of a female subject injecting drugs while seated inside a vehicle in the Tops Friendly Markets parking lot in the Town of Warsaw.  When deputies arrived they located the vehicle still in the parking lot occupied by three females.  Following investigation two females were charged with the below charges:
RHIANNON A. WILSON, 22 of Bliss (DRIVER):
           CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE – CLASS B FELONY
(POSSESSION OF 2 BAGS OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO SELL THEM)
           TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE – CLASS E FELONY
(DUMPED HEROIN FROM 2 BAGS ONTO GROUND UPON APPROACH OF LAW ENFORCEMENT)
           CRIMINALLY POSSESSING A HYPODERMIC INSTRUMENT – CLASS A MISDEMEANOR
(POSSESSED 2 SYRINGES USED FOR INJECTING HEROIN)
17 Year Old Female (FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER):
           CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE – CLASS B FELONY
(POSSESSION OF 21 BAGS OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO SELL THEM)
           CRIMINAL SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE IN THE THIRD DEGREE – CLASS B FELONY
(SOLD 2 BAGS OF HEROIN)
Wilson and the 17 year old female were arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court and scheduled for further court action on August 14, 2017 in the Town of Warsaw Court.  Wilson was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond.  The 17 year old female was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 cash bail or $20,000.00 bond.  Her name is not being released at this time due to her age.
Members of the Wyoming County Drug Task Force responded to the scene of the original complaint and assisted deputies with the investigation.
