Michael B. Gooch, 68, of Coudersport, PA, died Wednesday,
August 9, 2017 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia,
PA. Born November 25, 1948, in Lebanon,
PA, he was the son of Lester and Shirley M. Kulp Gooch. On September 6, 1969, in Coudersport, he
married the former Vicki L. Russell, who survives. A 1966 graduate of Coudersport High School
and a 1970 graduate of Robert Morris College, he earned a degree in business
administration. A Vietnam Era Veteran,
he served honorably with the US Army National Guard from 1971 – 1976. Mike was employed at Midland Optical with his
father, Air Preheater in Wellsville, Adelphia, and Cole Memorial Hospital. He was a member of American Legion Potter
Post #192 in Coudersport and coached inner city baseball for many years. He was affectionately known as Yoda and
Bear. Surviving besides his wife, Vicki,
are: three sons, Derrick (Nicole) Gooch
of Goodyear, AZ, Clay Gooch and Ryan (Cynthia) Gooch, both of Coudersport; five grandchildren, Austin, Bianca, Mariah,
Corry, and Jackson; two sisters, Pamela
(Paul) Simcoe of Coudersport and Cynthia Nourse of FL; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Friends may gather at the American Legion
Potter Post #192 in Coudersport to celebrate Mike’s life on Saturday, August
19, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m.
