Doris G. Dibble, 86, formerly of Harrison Valley, PA, died
Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Wheaton’s Personal Care Home, Westfield, PA. Born November 30, 1930, in North Fork, PA,
she was the daughter of Robert and Ruth Paddock Gill. She attended the country school in North Fork
and was a graduate of Harrison Valley High School. On June 13, 1950, in Harrison Valley, she
married Glen S. Dibble, Jr., who predeceased her on March 17, 2000. Doris and her husband owned and operated a
dairy farm in Harrison Township for over 50 years. She was also employed by the PA Department of
Forestry and was the first woman hired by Consolidated, now Dominion, as an
engineer at the Harrison station. She
attended the West Union Mennonite Church, where she was active in the quilt
guild and ladies group. She was a member
of the North Fork Grange, Harrison Valley Alumni Association, various
motorcycle clubs, and served as Harrison Township Tax Assessor. Surviving are: two sons, Hal (Sandra) Dibble of Westfield,
PA and Neal (Trudi) Dibble of Middlebury Center, PA; a daughter, Denise (Alvin) Swan of Westfield,
PA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was
predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Dibble, in 1999; two sisters, Eilene Hurler
and Myrtle Steadman; and a brother, Elwood Gill. Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home
& Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 5:00 –
