Arkport - Robert Leon White, 70, of Cream Hill Road, passed away Tuesday (March 21, 2017) after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in North Hornell, NY, July 13, 1946, he was the son of Erwin and Barbara (Miller) White. Bob grew up in Canaseraga, graduating from Canaseraga Central School in 1966. Immediately after graduation he entered the United States Navy. He was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Brunswick, Maine. After discharge from the Navy he worked as a self-employed contractor until his retirement.
Bob was an avid sportsman, known for telling stories of his hunting and fishing adventures.
He was predeceased by his mother and father Erwin and Barbara (Miller) White and brothers William and Richard K. White.
Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lenis (Carney) White, son Jason P. White (Kerry Mauerman) of Arkport, daughter Melissa (Jack) White of Canaseraga, granddaughters, Emma Jane and Adeline White. He is also survived by his sister Kathleen (Gary) Salvagin, sisters-in-law, Melinda Carney (Christine Banke) and Patricia (Verge) Champlin, brother-in-law Larry (Dawn) Carney and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday (March 25, 2017) at 1PM at the Bender – Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell, NY 14843.
